EIIN: 123456 | Board Code: 102010

History of AGHS

Atghoria Government High School is one of the most prestigious and important educational institutions in Pabna. It is located in the heart of Atghoria Upazila, comprising an area of 5.00 acres of land. Atghoria Government High School was established in 1960, initially inspired by the model of traditional public schools. A renowned educationist was appointed as the first headmaster of the school.

The school began its journey with only six classes, from Class Four to Nine. The first batch of students appeared in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination in 1962. With the gradual expansion of the institution, it experienced several administrative reforms to enhance educational quality and teaching effectiveness.

In 1995, due to administrative restructuring and the aim of more effective teaching, the school underwent relocation within the area and its original name “Atghoria Government High School” was reinstated. Currently, the school is housed in two buildings — one six-storied and the other five-storied — accommodating modern educational needs.

Today, Atghoria Government High School operates in two shifts and serves nearly 7,500 students. The Day Shift, which had been previously discontinued, was reintroduced on 1st January 2013. The school offers both Bangla and English versions of the curriculum. Its flag is yellow in color, bearing the school’s monogram and four stars, symbolizing the core motto of the institution: Discipline, Education, and Character.
